A team effort in a team game will lead into a sure basketball winnings. Rather than an All-Star game by only one scoring machine. I have nothing against "the Black Mamba" of the Los Angeles Lakers (in fact, I admired his leadership on the court and his ability to win games..crucial games for this matter) but, come to think of this. how can you expect to win games if you are the only one handling the ball and driving it to the basket.

I agree with the Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers' statement and I quote, "It doesn't matter if he (Kobe) scores, it is only 2-points not ten". Kobe's 38 points was easily toppled down by the Celts due to reasons that he is the only player out of the entire cast of the Lakers bench that is actively playing towards the basket. making him the only threat. So Celts defense are focused on him and not on Artest, Gasol, or Fisher. But focused on Kobe!

And on the Celtics on the other hand, how can you make a good defense against the 5 players doing their own stuffs inside the court. They are unpredictable and that is the bottom line.

Allen Iverson's Wife Files Divorce

A week after the Philadelphia 76ers' Allen Iverson announced he was leaving basketball for the rest of the season to be with his sick 4-year-old daughter, the star’s wife filed for divorce in Fulton County Superior Court.

In the divorce petition filed on Tuesday, Tawanna Iverson said her 8 ½-year-long marriage to the guard was “irretrievably broken.” In the petition, Tawanna Iverson asked for temporary and permanent custody of their five children as well as child support and alimony.

She did not ask for a specific dollar amount.

The children range in ages from 17 months to 15 years.

Spurs Traded Bowen, Obertom Thomas for Richard Jefferson

The Milwaukee Bucks traded Richard Jefferson to the San Antonio Spurs for Bruce Bowen and Kurt Thomas on Tuesday.

The Spurs will also send Fabricio Oberto to the Detroit Pistons for Amir Johnson who then goes to the Bucks, a source said.

The first part of the three-team trade became official late Tuesday night.

"We are thrilled to add Richard Jefferson to the Spurs roster," said RC Buford, president of sports franchises for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. "He is a talented, athletic player -- in the prime of his career -- who can influence the game on both ends of the court. We think he is a great fit for our team,

"Trades are often difficult and saying 'bye' to Bruce, Fabricio and Kurt is a tough thing to do. All three of them were valuable contributors to our success as well as good people. We thank each of them for their dedication, professionalism and willingness to always put team first."

The move gives the Spurs a dynamic wing scorer to play alongside Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. The Spurs had promised to make their team better this summer and adding Jefferson for role players should give them a huge shot in the arm.

Jefferson averaged 19.6 points and shot a career-high 39.7 percent from 3-point range while starting all 82 games.

Orlando moved within one win of ending its 14-year finals drought on Tuesday night as Dwight Howard, the Magic's present-day Diesel, scored 27 points -- 10 in overtime -- in a 116-114 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers to take a 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference finals and shove LeBron James and his not-so-supportive cast to the edge of an early summer break.

"We're up 3-1, but we can't relax," said Rashard Lewis, whose catch-and-shoot 3-pointer with 4.1 seconds left in regulation was easily Game 4's most dramatic shot. "Anything can happen. We got to go to Cleveland looking to try and close these guys out."

The Magic got more good news Wednesday when the NBA rescinded Howard's Game 4 technical foul, his sixth of the playoffs. Under league rules, Howard would've been automatically suspended for one game had he received a seventh technical during the postseason.

Orlando heads into Game 5 with no fear of the road. They finished off the defending champion Boston Celtics on their famed parquet floor in a Game 7 in the previous round and have a chance to end Cleveland's dream season on the court of King James.

Cleveland's matchup problems are glaring: Height, depth, speed. You name it, Orlando has it over Cleveland. When the Cavs have concentrated on stopping Howard down low, the Magic make 3-pointers (they hit 17 of 38 in Game 4), and when Cleveland focuses its defense on guarding the perimeter, Howard destroys them near the basket.

Rafer Alston added 26 points and Rashard Lewis and Mickael Pietrus had 17 each for the Magic.

The league MVP (James), who saved the Cavaliers with a 3-pointer at the final horn in Game 2, was double-teamed on the inbounds pass but still managed to get free. He came back and got the ball before dribbling into the frontcourt as Magic fans held their collective breath.

Cleveland's Mo Williams, who guaranteed the Cavs would win Game 4 and the series, scored 18 points, none after the third quarter. Delonte West added 17 and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 12 for the Cavaliers.

James couldn't repeat his Game 2 miracle and must now hope he and the Cavs can regroup at home, where they are 43-3 this season.

Orlando, relishing the underdog role in its first conference finals appearance since 1995, won 99-89 on Sunday night in a disjointed Game 3 that included personal fouls, technicals and a flagrant on Magic reserve guard Anthony Johnson for his elbow to Williams' face in the second quarter.

The blow opened cuts above and below Williams' eye, and Cleveland's point guard said he was still feeling a little woozy from an unexpected shot he felt was intentional.

"My head's still ringing," said Williams, who refused to take off his shades to show the wounds. "The game of basketball is not played with throwing punches, throwing elbows."

Johnson refused to get drawn into a verbal war with Williams, who was called for a block on the play that bloodied him.

Williams (32.1 percent), Zydrunas Ilgauskas (38.2) and Delonte West (41.9) are not shooting up to their standards, and James had his first "off" night in Game 3 (11 of 28), but he scored 41 and had the Cavaliers within five points in the final minute. The league's MVP is averaging 41.7 points in the series. But there have been extended periods when it's LeBron and only LeBron vs. the Magic. The Cavs, so together on and off the court all season, have become a one-man show at the worst time possible.

Nobody was feeling luckier than Kobe Bryant a day after rescuing the Los Angeles Lakers from certain defeat against the Denver Nuggets in their Western Conference finals opener.

Bryant scored 40 points, including six free throws in the final 30 seconds Tuesday night, to give the Lakers a 105-103 victory after being outplayed most of the game.

Game 2 is Thursday night at Staples Center. The Nuggets have lost 11 consecutive playoff games to the Lakers, including a first-round sweep last season.

Bryant was forced into playing both ends of the floor after teammate Trevor Ariza couldn't stop Denver's Carmelo Anthony, who owned a lackluster history against the Lakers until exploding for 39 points.

Bryant started out defending Chauncey Billups (18 points), then took on J.R. Smith (eight points) before sliding over late to Anthony, his U.S. Olympic teammate. Forget asking coach Phil Jackson for permission to change defensive assignments, either.

The series-sweeping Cavaliers, who broomed Detroit and Atlanta into early summer vacations, are expecting a much stiffer challenge from the Magic. Orlando won both of their matchups at home against Cleveland during the regular season, including a 116-87 thrashing on April 3 -- the Cavaliers' worst loss in 90 games.

Cleveland has lost just once since that mauling by the Magic, and that setback came in overtime in the April 15 season finale against Philadelphia, a game James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Mo Williams sat out to get extra rest for the playoffs.

Coming off a second-round upset of the defending champion Celtics, the Magic, who won Game 7 on Boston's parquet floor, are a confident bunch heading into Game 1.

"We're not satisfied," Orlando center Dwight Howard said Tuesday. "Yeah, we are happy we got past the second round. But we're not satisfied. We don't want to just be happy and hand them the series. We have enough talent to win a championship, and we don't want to let an opportunity slip by."

And while the Cavaliers are balanced, they have something the Magic can't match: James.

Howard feels there's only one approach to take in guarding James.

"You can't be afraid," said the league's defensive player of the year. "When he comes down the lane, you have to stand in the lane. You have sacrifice your body for the betterment of the team. We understand that. We have to keep him out of the lane. He's going to get in there sometimes, but we have to be able to force him out."

The Clippers Wins NBA Draft Lottery

The team who has the very long losers in the NBA franchise were the now the winners Tuesday night in the NBA Draft for this year.

The Clippers came across the country for what's practically an annual spring vacation and are going home with a nice souvenir: the No. 1 pick in next month's draft.

The Clippers won the draft lottery, moving up from the third-best chance to earn the top pick for the third time, earning the right to draft All-America forward Blake Griffin of Oklahoma, the national college player of the year.

Memphis vaulted to second pick and Oklahoma City will have the third pick.

Sacramento, which had the best chance to win the lottery after finishing with a league-worst 17-65 record, fell to fourth, and Washington dropped from second to No. 5.

The lottery had much bigger buzz in the past two years because there were two players who seemed worthy of going No. 1. Portland went for Greg Oden over Kevin Durant in 2007, and the Chicago Bulls moved up to get Rookie of the Year Derrick Rose last season, with Michael Beasley going second to Miami.

That wasn't the case this year, since Griffin seems like the only possible choice at No. 1. Spanish guard Ricky Rubio and Connecticut center Hasheem Thabeet are also considered top-three choices, but come with question marks: Rubio is still a teenager and Thabeet isn't polished offensively.

The lottery determines the top three picks, with the rest of the first round going by inverse order of a team's record. It began in 1985, when the New York Knicks selected Patrick Ewing.

Kevin Garnett was in street clothes. Ray Allen fouled out. The Boston Celtics' Big Three was down to one, and Paul Pierce was ready.

The MVP of last year's NBA Finals scored 26 points, hitting one jumper to tie the game at the end of regulation and three more in the final 77 seconds of overtime on Tuesday night to help the Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls 106-104 and take a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven playoff series.

Ben Gordon scored 26 and Joakim Noah had 11 points and 17 rebounds for Chicago, but Brad Miller missed the potential game-tying free throws with 2 seconds left in overtime after Rondo fouled him to prevent an easy layup.

Game 6 will be on April 30, 2009 at the CHICAGO BULLS HOMECOURT.

Dwight Howard did so much damage to the Philadelphia 76ers he set off a coaching feud.

Howard had 24 points and a career playoff-high 24 rebounds, a dominating performance that powered the Magic to a 91-78 victory over the Sixers on Tuesday night and gave Orlando a 3-2 series lead.

Jason Terry galloped down court after one big shot and Josh Howard skipped along the sideline after another. For what the Dallas Mavericks were about to pull off, they might as well have danced.

For the first time since 2006, the Mavericks are moving past the first round.

And for the first time since 2000, the San Antonio Spurs are not.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 31 points in his first breakout game of a lopsided series, and the Mavericks won a playoff series for the first time in three years by eliminating the Spurs in five games with a 106-93 victory on Tuesday night.

Tim Duncan scored 30 and Tony Parker had 26 but again got little help -- the story of the series for the two-dimensional Spurs. Predictions that the Spurs were doomed while Manu Ginobili sat out the playoffs with a bum ankle appeared largely validated, as San Antonio never got anyone to step up in his absence.

San Antonio Spurs was eliminated by the Dallas Mavaericks in a First Round Series 4-1.

Brandon Roy was so sick he could barely make it through shootaround.

Roy had an IV before Game 5, then went out and scored 25 points to help the Trail Blazers stave off elimination with an 88-77 victory over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. LaMarcus Aldridge also had 25.

The Rockets, who have not advanced out of the first round of the playoffs in six tries since 1997, hold a 3-2 advantage in the series going into Thursday night's game back in Houston.

Roy, a two-time All-Star, missed practice on Monday because of flu-like symptoms, while Aldridge didn't practice because of a sore right elbow. Both started Tuesday night.

Luis Scola led the Rockets with 21 points. Yao Ming had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Travis Outlaw and Roy padded it with a pair of 3-pointers to make it 77-68 with 5:21 to go. After Roy added a running jumper, the Rose Garden fans were on their feet, with one fan raising a sign that read "Bring down the Rockets!"

The teams split two tight games in Boston, before the Celtics blew out the Bulls in Game 3. This time, they stretched the drama into a second overtime.

Derrick Rose added 23 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. John Salmons scored 20 points after a slow start, hitting four free throws in the final 26 seconds of the game and blocking Paul Pierce's tying 3-pointer.

The Cleveland Cavaliers showed the Boston Celtics just what they'll be up against in a possible National Basketball Association playoff clash Sunday with a regular-season drubbing.

LeBron James made five three-pointers and scored 29 points as the league-leading Cavaliers beat reigning NBA champs Boston 107-76.

The Cavaliers improved to 39-1 at home, defending their home court against the world champs and with a victory over Philadelphia on Wednesday they can match the 1985-86 Celtics for best home record in NBA history.

While for the Boston Celtics Paul Pierce scored 14 points and Glen Davis 12 for the Celtics, who were held to 36 percent shooting.

Cleveland have already clinched the top seed and home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. With a victory on Monday in Indianapolis, they can secure home-court in the NBA finals as well, should they reach them.

Continuing perhaps the most unlikely dominance of one team over another in the NBA, the Bobcats got 21 points and 13 rebounds from Gerald Wallace and used stifling defense to beat the Lakers 94-84 on Tuesday night and move within one game of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Raymond Felton added 16 points, D.J. Augustin scored 14 and Boris Diaw had 12 assists as the Bobcats frustrated Kobe Bryant and completed a season sweep of the Western Conference leaders, who have lost six of seven to Charlotte over the past four seasons.

Tyrus Thomas rises to the occasion of lifting the Chicago Bulls on to the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference against the Miami Heat on Thursday..

John Salmons also contributed to the winning team effort of the Bulls as he scores 27 points. The Bulls defeated the Heat, the sixth victory of the Bulls of their seven games.

The Bulls took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Heat 32-14, and moved into a seventh-place tie with Detroit in the Eastern Conference.

"Just a couple weeks ago, we were out of the playoffs and weren't playing well," said Salmons, acquired from Sacramento before the trade deadline and a big reason why the Bulls are climbing. "We've put a good string of games together."

BULLS past Pistons 99-91

It was Kirk Hinrich's night re-filling the guard spot in the absence of the injured Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls defeats the Detroit Pistons 99-91.

Ben Gordon scored 19, Tyrus Thomas had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Joakim Noah scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Bulls earned their fifth win in six games. More importantly, they now lead Charlotte by two games and Milwaukee by 2 1/2 in the race for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot and are right behind seventh-place Detroit, which has lost five of six.

Rose's absence was a mild surprise for the Bulls, considering he wound up playing 39 minutes at Washington the previous night despite injuring the wrist on a dunk attempt in the second quarter. X-rays and an MRI showed no damage. Even so, he was in too much pain to play on Tuesday.

Also the Pistons, have their injury issues.

Iverson missed his 14th game in a row with a sore back, while Wallace (strained left calf) and Hamilton (strained left groin) missed their eighth and fifth straight, respectively. Clearly, the Pistons miss their stars. Then again, they weren't exactly rolling when they were healthy.

They dropped eight in a row before Iverson went down, and after a four-game win streak, the losses started piling up again.

Dwyane Wade's Touching Story

The home of 8-year-old Michael Stolzenberg is lacking only one Miami Heat souvenir and it is Miami Heat's superstar Dwyane Wade's jersey, but it is now solved since after Dwyane Wade's visit to the young boy's house. He sees that the boy's room is full of the team's souvenirs from posters to magazines, to wallpaers and championship memorabilias all around the kid's room but there were no jerseys.

After the Heat defeated the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night, Wade removed his jersey and gave it to the boy -- who nearly died from a bacterial infection last summer, an ailment so devastating that doctors needed to remove both of Michael's hands and feet just so he would survive.

"He lights you up, the smiles on his face. He seems so happy," Wade said. "Everything that's happened to him is unfortunate. But he lights you up. He makes you feel good. He's a kid I've had a relationship with for a while. I've been to his room. He has everything already in there, and I wanted to add to it."

Here is the boy's tragic story:

Michael was bitten by a bug on July 22, 2008, rushed to the emergency room with a bacterial infection that was not responding to antibiotics. Shortly after he arrived, he went into septic shock and the doctors were forced to put him on a ventilator. His condition quickly worsened to the point of hopelessness, and as a last ditch effort, he was put on continuous dialysis. The doctors and nurses at Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital made heroic efforts over the next seven weeks to keep Mikey alive, and have said that he was one of the five sickest patients ever treated in their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Identification of the bacteria as Chromobacterium Violacium (a bacteria which lives in tropical soil and is not usually a problem unless the person has an immunological disorder) was key to his survival, as once the bacteria was identified, the doctors could target it with effective antibiotics.

The next day, doctors warned his family that he would likely die. He wound up spending more than seven weeks in the intensive-care unit of a South Florida hospital. He was the quarterback on his youth football team, a lacrosse player, an avid bicycle rider and video-game player.

Miraculously, Mikey survived with his intelligence and wit; however, oxygen depravation to his limbs has resulted in the amputation of both hands and both feet. Mikey will have to live with the results of his illness for the rest of his life. At this point, it is unknown whether Mikey will be able to write, use a computer or even feed or dress himself, much less participate in the every-day normal activities that he so enjoyed prior to his illness. Up until July 22nd, Mikey was an avid athlete and had just earned the starting quarterback position on his pee wee tackle football team; he also enjoyed playing lacrosse, riding his bike and all of the other activities most 8-year-olds thrive on.

Now back to D-Wade's Story,

Eventually, the Heat learned of the boy's situation, and reached out. Michael was shown on the jumbo video screens Monday night during the game, got a standing ovation, then got the biggest thrill of all -- the jersey.

"Hopefully we can get that signed and get it on the wall," Wade said.

Wade has often met with sick children during his time with the Heat, usually in private, often not wanting any part of the spotlight.

He didn't want any on Monday, either, even after making a gift so publicly.

Bulls wins in Oklahoma City 103-96

Rose scored 20 of his 25 points and didn't miss a shot in the second half as the Bulls defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Bulls snapped their seven-game road losing streak and improved to an impressive 17-12 against Western Conference opponents as they defeated the Thunder for the fifth time in their last six meetings.

"I knew that my team needed me to make plays. I didn't know what type of plays, but it ended up being scoring plays," said Rose.

Russell Westbrook, the fourth overall pick in the draft, had 15 points and pulled the Thunder within 99-96 by driving past Rose for a layup in the final minute before Oklahoma City's rally fell short.

John Salmons added 20 points and Ben Gordon scored 18 for the Bulls.

Kevin Durant led Oklahoma City with 28 points and Jeff Green had 18.

"It's such a tight race right now to get that eighth spot in the East," Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro said. "All these games we've struggled on the road and we haven't converted down the stretch, but it was nice for us tonight to convert."

Houston Rockets defeats the best team in the Eastern Conference of the NBA or National Basketball Association in a home victory 93-74.

LeBron James candidate for the MVP had missed lots of shots, complaining to the refs, and never had an assists for the first time in his career.

Yao Ming scored 28 points and Ron Artest added 15 while harassing James on defense most of the night, leading the Rockets to their six consecutive win and ninth straight at home.

“It is a big win,” said Yao, who hit 13 of 15 shots, despite Cleveland’s constant double-teams. “We played against one of the best quality teams in this league. That is a really good test for us to see how far we can go.”

James scored 21 points, but went 7-for-21 from the field with three turnovers. He left for good with 4:03 left, the only time in 493 NBA games (counting playoffs) he failed to record an assist.

“I’m not happy with that at all,” James said. “I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have an assist, but as a team, we didn’t move the ball at all. We’ll just move on to the next game.”

Rockets had their sixth consecutive win and the ninth straight at home.

Houston Rockets wins against Portland Trail Blazers

The Houston Rockets rose up victoriously against the Portland Trail Blazers despite their injury setbacks 98-94.

It was Luis Scola and Ron Artest effort that gave the Rockets the lift and thus they continue to strive up the climb for the elite force in the Western Conference.

Ron Artest, does the big damage to the Trail Blazers with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Aaron Brooks had 20 points and Luis Scola's performance of 15 points and 11 rebounds does claiming the 5th spot in the West.

Luis Scola of Argentina had his fifth double-double for the Rockets.

Though they have lost their star players in the name of Tracy McGrady due to his knee surgery, Rafer Alston traded to the Orlando Magic, and Carl Landry still out for a sprained ankle. The Houston Rockets manages to keep up their winning streak now up to 5 (36-21).

Team's Big Injury List

The Boston Celtics will miss "KG" or "the Big Ticket" Kevin Garnett for 2-3 weeks due to his knee injury (a sprained muscle behind his knee).

The Denver Nuggets forward Hilario Nene has a bruised on his right knee and won't play Monday against the Celtics and another forward Kenyon Martin with a back-spasm is a game time decision.

The Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer is still in the list now having his 44th game miss. Due to his injury in his left leg.

The Phoenix Suns big-man Amare Stoudemire has to be sit-down due to his eye injury (detach retina on his right eye) last Wednesday win over the Clippers.

The Houston Rockets guard Tracy "T-Mac" McGrady had a season ender injury. He will undergo a micro fracture surgery on his left knee and will be out 6-12 months.

The Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis will be missing his game to rest his surgically repaired ankle for at least one week.

Elton Brand of the Philadelphia 76ers will be out for the rest of the season and also Orlando Magic's guard Jameer Nelson due to their shoulder injuries. While Michael Redd's knee injury will cost him the rest of the season.

Boston Outshines the Suns

It was Rajon Rondo came out big as the Boston Celtics wins the match against the Phoenix Suns 128-108.

Rondo scored a career-high of 32 points and 10 assists as he celebrates his 23rd birthday.

Each team was without an All-Star starter because of injury. The Celtics did just fine without Garnett. Phoenix sorely missed Amare Stoudemire.

"We've got a lot of work to do," Suns point guard Steve Nash said.

Ray Allen scored 31 and Pierce 26 in Boston's first game since Garnett went down with a strained muscle in his right knee that is expected to sideline him for at least two weeks.

"Guys step up and play their roles even better when Kevin is out," Rondo said.

Jazz wins over the Hornets, 102-88

Utah Jazz offered a moment of silence for their late team owner Larry H. Miller (LHM) before the start of the game against the New Orleans Hornets.

Deron Williams had 20 points and 13 assists as the Utah Jazz honored the memory of Larry H. Miller with a 102-88 win over the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday.

The Jazz improved to 10 games above .500 for the first time this season and after the buzzer, Williams walked the game ball across the court to hand it to Miller's widow, Gail, and hugged her. Miller, 64, died Friday of complications from diabetes.

Chris Paul had 24 points and seven assists for New Orleans, which was coming off an overtime loss in Los Angeles the night before.

Emotions alone weren't enough to carry Utah. After allowing an 11-point run in the third quarter that got New Orleans within two, the Jazz regrouped and took an 84-76 lead into the fourth quarter. Both teams sputtered through the first few minutes, but Williams revived his teammates and the fans with a 20-foot jumper, followed by a 3-pointer to put Utah ahead 91-80 with 6:48 remaining.

Mehmet Okur followed with a layup, then after Williams drew an offensive foul on Paul, Okur hit a 3-pointer that put the Jazz up 96-81 and all but clinched it.

The Hornets went without a field goal from 10:53 in the fourth until Rasual Butler's three-point play with 3:36 remaining.

Okur finished with 25 points to lead the Jazz and Paul Millsap had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Butler had 21, and David West had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who are 0-2 against the Jazz this season.

The Hornets were coming off a 115-111 overtime loss at the Lakers on Friday night.

The Jazz won their fourth straight and there was no doubt this one was for Miller, the man who saved the franchise from leaving his hometown twice in the 1980s, then built Utah into a contender.

Jazz honors the late owner Larry H. Miller

Yesterday, before the start of the Jazz-Hornets game. The Utah Jazz honored the late Larry H. Miller with a moment of silence a-day after his death.

The Jazz showed a brief video tribute as a lone spotlight shined down on Miller's empty courtside seat.

The players also debuted patches that will be part of the uniform for the rest of the season. The patch is the original team logo, a purple music note with gold and green trim and the initials "LHM" in white at the top.

Miller died Friday of complications from diabetes. He was 64. Miller's funeral is scheduled for Feb. 28 at EnergySolutions Arena.

Miller owned the Jazz for nearly 25 years, buying a 50 percent share of the team in 1985 and the rest a year later. He was credited with saving the fledgling franchise from moving twice and keeping the NBA in his hometown.

The Knicks are not trading Nate Robinson to Sacramento.The Kings offered Kenny Thomas to New York in exchange for Robinson and Jared Jeffries, banking on the idea that New York couldn't resist the opportunity to remove Jeffries' salary from its payroll, which would have cleared another $6.8 million off the books for the summer of 2010.

Tyson Chandler Traded to the Thunders

The CP3-to-Tyson connection will no longer be visible as Tyson Chandler is now a Thunder.

This was made final on Tuesday. This means, New Orleans Hornets will have veteran Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox and thus would give the Hornets some cap room for the next season, Paul's first year of a $68 Million contract.

New Orleans also got the rights to DeVon Hardin, a second-round pick out of California in last year’s draft who never signed with Oklahoma City.

Knicks Defeats Spurs in Overtime 112-107

The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in an overtime (112-107).

Nate Robinson showed off his "power" of being the only stone that can defeat a hero (Superman), with his 32 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime winning effort against a considerable NBA dominant powerhouse team the San Antonio Spurs.

Tim Duncan of the Spurs scored 26 points and 15 rebounds. But fellow All Star Tony Parker only shot a 5-for-20 and finished with 14 points for the Spurs. Spurs were without Manu Ginobili who was back in San Antonio getting further test on his sore right ankle.

The Knicks' win snapped a six-game losing streak. Chrsi Duhon and Wilson Chandler contributed 17 points each. Knicks still down the standing in the East with 22-31 Win Loss card.

NBA's Second Half (PlayOffs 2009 Countdown)

Each conference will have eight teams and it must be above .570 to be on 7th place regular season finish.

This 16 teams will now compete in the quarter finals best of 7 series and only 8 of which will enter the conference semifinals again best of 7 series and the final four considered to be the conference contenders in their conference finals for another best of seven series...and eventually 2 of them (one from the Eastern Conference and one from the Western Conference) will compete for a much awaited NBA Finals.
